Suggestions for Tours in Antholz
A brief abstract from our hiking book for adentures hikers, who want to explore Antholz.
Whether you want to go around the Lake "Antholzer See" or to the top of our high mountain, we can offer you a wide range of differnt hiking trails for every condition. The wild waters and mountain lakes, along with the Hochgall and Wildgall glaciers, give the landscape its special charm. Numerous mountain huts invite you to stay, take a break and overlook the Antholz and the Pustertal.

Hiking distance: round-trip about 5 hours

Difference in elevation: 350 m
Alpine hut/guesthouse/restaurants in operation
Start at Johanneshof via Außerweger-Säge and take the village's main street in the Antholz-Mittertal (center of the valley of Antholz). Turn after about 500 m into Franzosensteig No. 11 leading you to Seeweg at the Biathlon-Center passing by the Antholzer See. Back to the Antholz camp ground via No. 1 into the Antholz-Mittertal and from there take the village's main street to Außerweger-Säge and back to "Johanneshof“. This route leads you through luscious green meadows, sparsely populated woods, by the farms and huts of the Antholzertal valley.
Hiking distance: round-trip about 2 hours
Difficulty level: easy
Difference in elevation: 120 m
Start at Johanneshof, turn left via No.1 towards Hofschänke Nösslerhof and from there take the Müller-Kofl-Weg to Burgeggerhof – Riederhof – Dorf Mittertal – towards the parish church (Pfarrkirche) and from there via the village's main road back to "Johanneshof".

Difficulty level: easy - medium
Difference in elevation: 400 m
Alpine hut in operation: Starting point Johanneshof (elevation 1.250 m) - via the Franzosensteig Weg No. 11 to the Eggerhöfen and via route No. 6 to the Kumpflalm (elevation 1.653m).

Difficulty level: easy - medium
Difference in elevation: 450 m
En route you will find Schwörz-Alm in operation. Start at Johanneshof via Frazosensteig Weg No. 11 to the Eggerhöfen and via route No. 6a towards Kumpflalm, shortly before route No. 12 branches off (Mittertaler Höhenweg) and leads you directly to Schwörzalm (elevation 1.680 m). From there back to the Eggerhöfen into the Antholz-Mittertal (center of the valley of Antholz) and from there via the village's main street to Außerweger-Säge and back to "Johanneshof".

Difference in elevation: 750 m
Alpine hut in operation: Starting point Johanneshof (elevation 1.250 m) to Sießlhof and on to Weidnerhof, towards Ammererhöfe – a signpost is located ap. 200 m before Ammererhöfen, No. 6 to Pichl-Wiesen-Almen and then to Grentealm. When heading back, chose between the forest trail and the hiking trail.

Alpine hut in operation
Start at the Eggerhöfe parking lot. Turn right towards No. 3 to the Berger- and Brenn-Alm. The serpentines are winding upwards until you reach a small gorge. Take the steps up to Gemsbichljoch and to the hiking refuge. From there chose any of the countless glacier tours of the 3.000 m peaks, e.g. Magerstein; Schneebigen Nock; Schwarze Wand; Fernerköpfl ect. – (only for skilled/ expert hikers).
While hiking through the tall mountains, you can come across chamois, marmots, stoats, golden eagles, and ptarmigans. Here in the Valle Anterselva, nature is on full display.
